Fiji Day Celebrations to Feature Over 400 Troops in Labasa

Over 400 military and navy personnel will participate in the national Fiji Day celebrations at Subrail Park in Labasa tomorrow. Samuela Ligairi, the special administrator for Labasa Town Council, announced that the military members will engage in several ceremonial duties as the nation marks another year of independence.

According to Mr. Ligairi, a total of 400 members from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and the Fiji Navy will be present for the main celebrations. He noted that bilateral partners, along with government ministers, will also join the festivities.

The chief guest for the event will be the provincial chief and president Ratu Wiliame Katonivere. Mr. Ligairi emphasized that the celebration serves as an opportunity for the community to unite and express their dedication to fostering a stronger Fiji. He added that it is a day to reflect on the nation’s journey and to honor shared values.

Mr. Ligairi mentioned that Labasa last hosted the national celebration in 2018.
