Fiji Day Celebration: A Military Spectacle in Labasa!

Over 400 members of the military and navy are set to participate in the national Fiji Day celebrations at Subrail Park in Labasa tomorrow. Samuela Ligairi, the special administrator of Labasa Town Council, announced that these personnel will engage in various ceremonial roles as the country commemorates another Independence Day.

“Four hundred members from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and Fiji Navy will be involved in the main events,” Mr. Ligairi stated. He noted that bilateral partners, in addition to government ministers, would also take part in the festivities.

The chief guest for the celebration will be Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, the provincial chief and president. Mr. Ligairi emphasized that the celebration is an opportunity for the community to unite and show their dedication to fostering a stronger, more cohesive Fiji.

“It is a day to reflect on our journey as a nation and celebrate our shared values,” he added. Mr. Ligairi also mentioned that the last national celebration held in Labasa took place in 2018.
