Fiji Day: A Celebration of Unity with 400 Military Personnel

Over 400 military and navy personnel will participate in the national Fiji Day celebrations at Subrail Park in Labasa tomorrow.

Samuela Ligairi, the special administrator of Labasa Town Council, announced that these members will engage in various ceremonial roles as the country honors its independence.

“A total of 400 members from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and the Fiji Navy will be included in the main celebrations,” stated Mr. Ligairi. He also noted that bilateral partners, alongside government ministers, would attend the event.

The chief guest for the occasion will be the provincial chief and president, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

“This celebration is an opportunity for us to unite as a community and reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger, more united Fiji,” Mr. Ligairi emphasized. He added that it is also a time to reflect on the nation’s journey and celebrate shared values.

Mr. Ligairi mentioned that the last national celebration held in Labasa took place in 2018.
