Fiji Corrections Service Cuts Community Tent Assistance: What’s Next?

The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has announced that it will no longer provide free tents for personal or community events due to rising operational demands. This change is effective immediately.

In a statement, the FCS noted that it has previously supported numerous community activities by offering tents at no charge for various functions, which included events accommodating up to 300 people. The service has taken pride in assisting the community by helping with the setup and breakdown of these tents to ensure events were successful.

However, due to current resource and personnel requirements, the FCS indicated that continuing this service has become increasingly difficult without affecting their core duties. The time and manpower needed for tent setup and dismantling will now be redirected to meet essential operational needs within the organization.
