During the festivities in Suva, Fiji’s President Wiliame Kotonivere expressed his appreciation for the contributions of the Chinese farming community, emphasizing the importance of their role in ensuring the availability of locally grown food crops. He acknowledged their efforts in developing domestic agricultural exports, reinforcing the historically strong relationship between Fiji and China.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, serves as a significant occasion for the Chinese community both in Fiji and worldwide. It marks the harvest season and promotes family reunions, thanksgiving, and the sharing of good fortune.
