The Fijian Cabinet has sanctioned a second reallocation of funds within the 2023-2024 Budget to deal with budget overruns experienced by the Ministry of Education and the Fiji Police Force.
An amount of FJ$7.94 million will be redistributed from current budget allocations to address these financial deficits.
This action comes after an earlier fund reallocation in July, where FJ$105.19 million was redirected to cover additional expenditure requirements across various government departments and initiatives.
The reallocation aligns with the Financial Management Act, ensuring the government adheres to its fiscal regulations while managing unexpected costs in these vital sectors.
This financial maneuver underscores the government’s commitment to efficient budget management while bolstering crucial public services.
