The Fijian Cabinet has sanctioned a second reallocation of funds within the 2023-2024 Budget to address overspending faced by the Ministry of Education and the Fiji Police Force.

A total of FJ$7.94 million will be shifted from current budget allocations to correct these financial deficits.

This action follows a previous fund reallocation in July, when FJ$105.19 million was redirected to cover additional spending needs across various governmental agencies and initiatives.

The fund reallocation adheres to the Financial Management Act’s guidelines, ensuring that the government stays within its fiscal framework while managing unforeseen expenses in these critical departments.

This financial maneuver underscores the government’s commitment to efficient budget management while continuing to support vital services.
