As the FIFA World Cup qualifiers draw near, Rob Sherman, head coach of the Fiji Bula Boys, expressed concerns regarding the uncertainties posed by recent coaching changes among their group opponents.
With Josh Smith and Felipe Vega-Arango assuming new coaching positions, Sherman noted the unpredictability this introduces into their opponents’ playing styles.
“There’s an element of the unknown because Josh and Felipe are new in their roles. How they’ve played in the past might not reflect how they’ll approach the upcoming matches. We’ve done our analysis, but there’s always some uncertainty when new coaches come into play,” said Sherman.
Fiji, backed by a dedicated home crowd, is determined to leverage their home advantage as they aim for a strong performance in the upcoming stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
