Sailors and fishermen are strongly encouraged to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing into hazardous waters. The meteorological agency reports that an east to southeast wind flow is currently affecting the Fiji group, along with a trough of low pressure situated to the south.
As of midday today, east to southeast winds are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 25 knots, leading to rough seas and moderate southerly swells.
Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in several regions, including:
– Serua-Namosi
– Navua-Suva-Nausori-Tailevu
– Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki
– Eastern Macuata
– Southern Bua
– Cakaudrove
– Kadavu
– Lau
– Lomaiviti groups
Other areas will likely experience cloudy conditions with rain and potential isolated thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon or evening hours. The forecast suggests similar weather conditions across all divisions and outer islands, with isolated thunderstorms possible on Saturday afternoon and evening.
