Fiji Bids Farewell to a Printing Pioneer: Remembering Diwan Chand Maharaj

Diwan Chand Maharaj, founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, was remembered as a “true friend to many” and a “dedicated professional” in the printing industry during his funeral service held at Dignified Crematorium. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka paid tribute to Mr. Maharaj, honoring his contributions and legacy on November 20, 2024.

Mr. Maharaj established Quality Print in 1982, leading the company for over forty years and establishing it as a renowned name in Fiji’s printing sector, noted for its excellence and innovative practices. His passing signifies a significant loss for the community and the local businesses that benefitted from his enterprise.

In addition to his role in the printing industry, Mr. Maharaj co-founded Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999 and was instrumental in the formation of the Kidney Foundation of Fiji. He was also recognized for his substantial involvement in charitable organizations, including a long-standing membership in the Rotary Club since 1990 and serving as the national president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji.

Prime Minister Rabuka reflected on Mr. Maharaj’s virtues of love and friendship, values that resonate deeply within the community. “Moce to’a mada Diwan, may your soul rest in peace,” he expressed, emphasizing the impact of Mr. Maharaj’s life on those around him.
