Fiji Bati vs Papua New Guinea: A Revenge Match Like No Other!

The Vodafone Fiji Bati team is preparing to clash with the Papua New Guinea Kumuls in the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup match, which is just days away. The Kumuls are eager to avenge their defeat from last year, when they lost 43-16 to the Bati on their home ground during the PNC.

Fiji Bati Head Coach Wise Kativerata acknowledges the Kumuls’ motivation for revenge and anticipates a challenging game. He stressed the importance of maintaining focus, with the team’s priority being on their own performance.

“This year, we have a blend of seasoned players and young talent, which creates a well-rounded team for the competition,” Kativerata mentioned. He has been communicating with the experienced players as the team continues its preparations and is aware of the PNG team’s determination to win.

Kativerata praised PNG coach Jason for his strong support of the team and their ambitions to enhance their standing in the NRL. He views this as a positive advancement for the Pacific region and rugby league as a whole.

“PNG coach Jason has been rallying his team, emphasizing the importance of winning this match to progress to the next level. Their bid for an NRL team, supported by the PNG and Australian governments, reflects positively on the Pacific and rugby league,” he stated.

The Fiji Bati will face the PNG Kumuls on the 19th of this month at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
