Fiji Bati vs Papua New Guinea: A Clash of Titans Awaiting Revenge!

The Vodafone Fiji Bati team is set to clash with the Papua New Guinea Kumuls in the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup match, with the Kumuls eager to avenge their loss from last year.

In a surprising turn of events during the previous year’s competition, the Bati triumphed over the Kumuls with a score of 43-16, a match that took place on Papua New Guinea’s home ground.

Fiji Bati Head Coach Wise Kativerata recognizes the Kumuls’ motivation for revenge and is gearing up for a challenging match. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining focus, declaring that the team’s primary objective is the Fiji Bati itself.

“This year, the squad comprises a blend of seasoned athletes and newcomers, creating a well-rounded team for the upcoming tournament,” Kativerata remarked.

He has been in communication with his experienced players during preparations and has observed the Kumuls’ strong determination to win. Kativerata praised PNG’s coach, Jason, for his enthusiasm and commitment to raising the team’s profile within the National Rugby League (NRL).

He views this ambition as a beneficial advancement for both the Pacific region and rugby league.

“Coach Jason has been assertive with his team, stressing the importance of winning this match to elevate their status, especially with the efforts being made by PNG and the Australian government regarding their NRL aspirations. It’s a positive sign for the Pacific and rugby league as a whole, and I take pride in their ambitions to secure an NRL team,” Kativerata stated.

The Fiji Bati is scheduled to take on the Papua New Guinea Kumuls on the 19th of this month at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
