Fiji Bati Dominates Cook Islands in NRL Pacific Bowl Showdown!

Michael Jennings scored three tries as the Vodafone Fiji Bati defeated the Cook Islands 56-6 in their second match of the NRL Pacific Bowl Championship held in Suva.

The Cook Islands initially took the lead with a try from Rua Ngatikaura, but the Fijians quickly responded with four tries. Sunia Turuva scored first for Fiji, followed by Jennings with two tries, and Kitione Kautoga capped off the first half scoring. Taane Milne converted all tries, giving Fiji a 24-6 advantage at halftime.

The second half saw the Fijians dominate, scoring six additional tries through Semi Valemei (2), Maika Sivo (2), Jennings, and Ben Nakubuwai. Milne contributed significantly with a total of 230 meters gained, along with seven successful conversions and three offloads.

This victory keeps the Fiji Bati in contention for the Pacific Bowl and a chance for promotion to the 2025 Pacific Cup. Their hope now lies in the Cook Islands defeating Papua New Guinea in Week 3.
