The Fiji Airways men’s sevens team has embarked on their journey to the Dubai 7s with two new players, Kavekini Tanivanuakula and George Bose, making their debut. Both athletes were brought into the training camp last month, where they caught the attention of coach Ben Kolinisau, particularly after their performances at the Fiji Bitter Kadavu 7s.
Kolinisau recognized Bose’s talents during the Kadavu 7s while he played for the BLK Lavidi Brothers and subsequently included him in the extended national squad. The team for the opening leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC SVNS World Series consists largely of experienced players, with ten seasoned athletes accompanying the two newcomers.
The Dubai 7s tournament is scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 1, providing a significant platform for both debutants to showcase their skills on an international stage.
In summary, the inclusion of Tanivanuakula and Bose not only strengthens the roster but also symbolizes a commitment to nurturing new talent in Fijian rugby. Fans and supporters can look forward to seeing how these young athletes will contribute to the team’s efforts in Dubai, fostering a sense of optimism for the upcoming matches.
