Fiji 7s Legend Hospitalized: Fans Rally for Serevi’s Recovery

Fiji rugby legend Waisale Serevi has been hospitalized in India due to chest pains. Serevi, who serves as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s 7s teams in India, led the women’s team to a silver medal at the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy in Nepal. He was admitted to the hospital on October 10.

Rugby India shared a message on social media wishing Serevi a speedy recovery and indicated that another update would be provided in 24 hours. They reported that he is currently stable and in good spirits.

According to Manipal Hospital, a recent coronary angiogram indicated minor coronary artery disease, but Serevi’s condition is stable, and he is expected to be moved out of the ICU soon.

In a show of support, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka sent his best wishes to Serevi for a swift and complete recovery, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Get well soon.”
