Osea Kolinisau, the head coach of Fiji’s rugby sevens team, expressed his gratitude for the renewal of his contract for an additional four years, reaffirming his deep commitment to Fijian rugby. Amid a backdrop of uncertainty and public speculation regarding his future, Kolinisau clarified his strong ties to the team and his homeland.
“My heart has always been with Fiji, and my desire is for Fiji to excel in rugby sevens. I needed to discuss the arrangements with my wife first,” Kolinisau stated.
He also reflected on valuable lessons from previous Olympic competitions, highlighting the significance of mental preparation and the intensity of the game.
“There are many lessons from the Olympics. It ultimately revolves around mentality, which I have consistently emphasized. One key takeaway from the Olympics was the intensity of the game. By training at an intensity level above that of previous series, we elevate our game, and that’s what we achieved at the Olympics,” Kolinisau explained.
