Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, praised the Rewa football team for their successful qualification for the OFC Champions League and for winning the 2024 Digicel Fiji Premier League, which concluded last month.
In a statement issued to the Fiji Football Association, Infantino congratulated the team, saying, “Their constant effort throughout the season has paid off, resulting in this important title.” He extended his congratulations to every team member and the club for their significant achievement.
These remarks followed Rewa’s recent 3-1 victory at Govind Park in Ba. Infantino, who has served as president of FIFA since 2016, acknowledged the team’s accomplishments with enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, the Delta team is gearing up for the FMF Inter District Competition, where they are placed in group B of the Super Premier Division alongside Ba, Nadi, and Nadroga. Team coach Roderick Singh mentioned in a recent interview that their victory in the premier league and subsequent qualification for the OFC serves as motivation to pursue more titles.
As they enter the FMF IDC with their recent successes, Singh emphasized the need for an impressive and solid performance to secure the IDC trophy. The team is set to represent Fiji at the 2025 Oceania Football Championship.
