Motorists experienced significant delays at Nadi International Airport yesterday due to a vehicle fire. The incident occurred around 10:30 am, as confirmed by police spokesperson Constable Wame Batutolu.

According to Batutolu, the fire erupted after two vehicles collided; the vehicle en route to Lautoka caught fire after the 61-year-old driver failed to yield to another vehicle making a turn at the roundabout leading to the airport from Sabeto. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

Additionally, it was noted that the traffic lights in the area have been malfunctioning for some time, resulting in traffic direction being managed by cones.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
