The public will soon learn the names of the members of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) regarding the appointment of FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali and allegations made by the institute’s former acting deputy commissioner. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced that the Cabinet will convene on Tuesday to discuss the establishment of this commission.
Rabuka indicated that the COI will investigate the recent issues concerning FICAC, Malimali, and former acting deputy commissioner Francis Puleiwai. The Cabinet paper will also include the Terms of Reference and a list of proposed members for the COI. In response to questions from the media, Rabuka mentioned that the inquiry might involve overseas members as well.
