The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has forwarded the investigation file concerning FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further examination. This decision was made following consultations between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, who was assigned to the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.
Last week, the ODPP received the investigation file from the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) regarding Malimali. The ODPP stated that it determined the investigation was incomplete and therefore directed the CID to pursue the matter with specific recommendations.
Upon completion of the investigation, the file will be returned to the ODPP for a thorough evaluation of the evidence collected. The ODPP indicated that it will provide an update on the findings once it has reviewed the completed investigation file and made a decision.
