The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has forwarded the investigation file regarding FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to finalize the investigation.
According to an official statement from the ODPP, this decision was made after discussions between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, who was assigned to examine the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.
FICAC had submitted the investigation file on Barbara Malimali to the ODPP last week.
The statement indicated, “A decision was reached that the investigation into this matter was incomplete, thus the file has been sent to the Director CID with recommendations to complete the investigation.”
Once the CID concludes its investigation, the file will be sent back to the ODPP for a thorough evaluation of all the evidence.
The ODPP noted that further updates regarding the outcome of the file review will be provided once the completed investigation is received and a decision is made.
