FCEF Welcomes New CEO: What Changes Lie Ahead for Fiji’s Business Landscape?

The Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) has announced the appointment of Edward Bernard, a former consultant with the International Labour Organization (ILO), as its new chief executive officer. FCEF president Vinay Narsey expressed enthusiasm about bringing Mr. Bernard on board, highlighting the organization’s significant moment in its development.

Narsey emphasized that Mr. Bernard’s extensive knowledge in partnering with strategic stakeholders and his expertise in private sector development will greatly enhance FCEF’s mission to represent the interests of businesses and employers throughout Fiji. Bernard previously worked for 15 years with the ILO, where he was involved in various aspects, including planning, executing, and managing national and regional programs, as well as engaging in policy discussions with national partners.

In his new role, Bernard will prioritize enhancing FCEF’s advocacy initiatives, growing membership, and fostering best practices within the business sector. He expressed his honor in taking on the leadership role and looks forward to collaborating with members, partners, and the board to drive positive transformation, improve the business climate, and support economic development in Fiji.

His official start date is set for Monday, November 11.
