FCEF Welcomes New CEO: A Vision for Fiji’s Business Future

The Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) has appointed Edward Bernard, a former regional development consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO), as its new chief executive officer. FCEF President Vinay Narsey expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Mr. Bernard, noting that the organization is at a crucial stage in its development. Narsey highlighted Bernard’s significant expertise in collaboration with strategic partners and his specialization in private sector development, which will be essential for advocating for the interests of businesses across Fiji.

During his 15 years at ILO, Mr. Bernard was involved in numerous aspects of program and project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. He also engaged in policy discussions with national tripartite partners while managing teams and large budgets.

In his new position at FCEF, Mr. Bernard will aim to enhance advocacy efforts, grow membership, and promote best practices within the business community. He expressed his honor in taking on this leadership role and looks forward to collaborating with members, partners, and the board to foster positive change and stimulate economic growth in Fiji. His appointment will take effect on Monday, November 11.
