FCEF Welcomes New CEO: A Game Changer for Fiji’s Business Landscape

The Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) has appointed Edward Bernard, a former regional development consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO), as its new chief executive officer. FCEF president Vinay Narsey expressed excitement about Mr. Bernard joining the team, emphasizing the significant stage the organization is currently navigating.

Mr. Narsey highlighted that Bernard’s extensive knowledge in collaboration with strategic partners and stakeholders, coupled with his expertise in private sector development, will be crucial for advocating the interests of businesses and employers throughout Fiji.

Prior to this role, Bernard dedicated 15 years to ILO, where he was actively involved in planning, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating national and regional programs and projects. His experience includes engaging in policy dialogues with national tripartite partners as well as managing teams and substantial budgets.

In his new position, Bernard will concentrate on enhancing FCEF’s advocacy efforts, increasing membership and member services, and promoting best practices within the business sector.

“I am honored to take on this leadership position at FCEF,” Bernard stated. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate closely with members, partners, the board, and the secretariat to foster positive changes and contribute to economic growth in Fiji.

His appointment is effective starting Monday, November 11.
