FCEF Welcomes New CEO: A Game Changer for Fiji’s Business Landscape!

The Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) has officially named Edward Bernard, a former regional development consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO), as its new chief executive officer.

FCEF president Vinay Narsey expressed enthusiasm about Mr. Bernard’s appointment, stating that the organization is at a crucial stage in its development. Narsey highlighted Bernard’s extensive experience and understanding of collaboration with strategic partners and stakeholders, emphasizing that his expertise in private sector growth will be vital in advocating for business interests in Fiji.

Before this role, Bernard dedicated 15 years to the ILO, where he was responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, reporting, and coordinating various national and regional programs and projects. His work involved engaging in policy dialogue with national tripartite partners and managing large teams and budgets.

In his new position, Mr. Bernard aims to strengthen FCEF’s advocacy initiatives, grow membership and services, and promote best practices within the business sector.

“I am honored to take on this leadership position at FCEF,” remarked Mr. Bernard. “I look forward to collaborating with our members, partners, the board, and secretariat to foster positive change, improve the business climate, and contribute to economic progress in Fiji.”

His appointment will take effect on Monday, November 11.
