Under his leadership, the commission has made significant strides in establishing a regulatory framework that emphasizes fairness, consumer protection, and economic integrity across Fiji and the broader Asia-Pacific region. His tenure has been distinguished by a strong commitment to safeguarding consumers from unethical business practices through an effective competition and consumer protection framework.
The FCCC highlighted Mr. Abraham’s role in enhancing the commission’s capacity and earning it recognition as a trusted authority both nationally and internationally. A notable achievement during his time was the formation of the Pacific Islands Network of Competition, Consumer Protection, and Economic Regulators (PINCCER), which fostered regional cooperation and improved regulatory practices across the Pacific.
Additionally, Mr. Abraham championed various employee-focused initiatives, including the iCARE programme, sustainability packages, and flexible work arrangements, which have contributed to a supportive workplace culture. His leadership also brought about significant improvements to FCCC’s infrastructure and resource management, laying a strong foundation for its future growth.
The commission received accolades such as the Fiji Business Excellence Awards and the National Green Sustainability Award during his leadership, reinforcing FCCC’s status as a leading regulatory body in the region. Manoa Kamikamica, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, praised Mr. Abraham’s dedication and noted that consumers are now better protected because of his efforts.
