After two years of successfully operating her online business, Asma Fareha Khan has taken the next step by opening a retail store to cater to client demand. She is the founder of Asma Fashion Closet, situated on the main street of Nadi Town.
Originally from Punjab, India, Khan possesses significant expertise in fashion, including knowledge of product ranges and quality. She is married to Manuawar Khan, a prominent information technology professional based in Nadi.
“It has been our dream to venture into this business,” she expressed. “The modern setup of our store provides customers with a cozy and comfortable shopping experience, designed to make them feel as though they are browsing a closet.”
At Asma Fashion Closet, they offer a diverse range of women’s fashion apparel, footwear, jewelry, luxury clutches, handbags, hijabs, and various accessories, all imported to ensure uniqueness and style.
Manuawar Khan believes that there is substantial potential for retail sales of contemporary Indian ethnic and Indo-western clothing and accessories in Fiji. “Although the market is highly competitive in Fiji, our priority is to introduce quality and unique items that are not commonly seen here,” he stated.
Currently, there are no manufacturing facilities in Fiji; however, some products are customized to enhance their market appeal. “We have invested nearly $60,000 into establishing and stocking our showroom, and so far, we have hired two staff members,” he added. They also have plans to expand their business by opening additional showrooms in the western division.
