Faith Meets Community: Ambitious Plans for 40,000-Seat Church Unveiled

The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is initiating plans to construct a church designed to accommodate a congregation of 40,000 individuals. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.

Rev Ratabacaca noted that the tournament serves as a fundraising effort for the church project. “We have secured 25 acres of land for this church facility, which will be able to host 40,000 people,” he stated. He also mentioned that the facility will be open for events held by all Christian denominations.

“We have been inspired to create this facility for the entire body of Christ. We are thankful that God has entrusted us with this responsibility,” he added. Rev Ratabacaca emphasized that this church facility will be available for use by other Christian groups for their conferences.

He expressed concerns regarding the use of sports grounds for worship, stating that venues like the Vodafone Arena in Suva, where the Methodist Church Conference was recently held, are not appropriate for such gatherings. The Methodist conference reportedly incurred costs approaching half a million dollars for just one week.

“We’ve witnessed many Christian annual conferences taking place at sports venues. In inclement weather, attendees end up getting wet and cold. This new facility will be designed to ensure comfort during worship,” he said.
