Pacific Specialist Healthcare’s birthing facility in Nadi is reporting a remarkable success rate for its patients. The hospital encourages expectant parents to browse through reviews and posts from previous patients on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok to see the positive feedback from new mothers and fathers celebrating the arrival of their babies.

Led by Fiji’s top obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Tui Taoi, the PSH Obstetrics and Gynecology facility prides itself on having an exclusively female team of nurses and nursing assistants, ensuring privacy for expectant mothers. PSH’s director and CEO, Parvish Kumar, shared that this all-female staff has been positively received by many expectant mothers and their partners.

Kumar noted, “These mothers thank us for doing this.” After delivery, mothers enjoy private rooms equipped with television, lounge seating, and beverage-making facilities, resembling a five-star hotel experience. Fathers are encouraged to stay with their wives during their hospital stay.

Additionally, Kumar expressed satisfaction with the decision to keep the PSH Nadi branch open 24 hours, citing an increase in nighttime patients, including travelers from the airport needing urgent medical care for various conditions. The affordable consultation fee of $11.50 has also improved public access to healthcare, and PSH is exploring ways to offer these services free of charge through collaborations with foreign companies.

PSH aims to enhance healthcare services and promote universal coverage. Kumar emphasized their commitment to assisting those in need, stating, “Private hospitals are designed to ease pressure on the public system and offer advanced treatment options. At PSH, we strive to make services affordable, even making them free for those who need it most.”

“PSH Hospitals is a different breed of hospital; come talk to us and you will realize that empathy is in every pulse of PSH Hospitals,” he added. Patients visiting the general practitioners pay just $11.50, regardless of the time. Kumar highlighted that they provide medical procedures at competitive rates and offer payment plans for those requiring major treatments, with the expectation that patients will adhere to their financial commitments.
