The 68th Hibiscus Festival will feature partnerships with the Fiji Arts Council and The Suva Orchid and Horticulture Circle. The event is scheduled to take place from August 31st to September 7th at the Suva Civic Centre and Suva Foreshore.
Opetaia Ravai, Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, expressed his excitement about these collaborations. “This partnership offers an exciting opportunity to showcase Fijian culture. With the Fiji Arts Council’s involvement, attendees at The Presentation Show on September 4th can look forward to captivating cultural and traditional performances, including dances that will enthrall the audience as part of the evening program,” Ravai said.
The Suva Orchid and Horticulture Circle will work with the Fiji Arts Council to design and organize the creative visuals for the main stage and the Presentation Show stage on September 4th. Their expertise aims to create a stunning and memorable experience for all attendees.
The festival will also feature the highly anticipated National Flower Show, held alongside The National Archives of Fiji exhibition at the Suva Civic Centre from August 31st to September 7th. Florists will curate exquisite flower displays throughout the week, while the National Archives will showcase vintage images from the history of the Miss Hibiscus Festival, providing a nostalgic look at past events.
“This year’s Hibiscus Festival program will be unlike any previous festival, with a greater emphasis on culture, dance, art, food experiences, and promoting Suva as a must-visit destination. Our goal is to attract more international visitors to our capital city,” added Ravai.
The sponsors for the 2024 festival will be announced soon.
