Anirudha Bansod, the former Chief Executive of Post Fiji, has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison. The sentencing took place this afternoon at the Suva Magistrates Court, presided over by Magistrate Yogesh Prasad.
Bansod faced initially two charges: one for abuse of office and another for general dishonesty that caused a loss. He eventually accepted a guilty plea for a single charge of abuse of office after the charges were modified.
The case against him included allegations that between August 1 and December 31, 2022, while serving as the CEO of Post Fiji Ltd, Bansod submitted false declarations regarding confidentiality and conflicts of interest in connection with a tender related to the design, development, and implementation of the Post Fiji Mobile Application.
