The government’s decision to reduce the availability of school counselors, consolidating support to a single district counselor, has further exacerbated the issue. While there are discussions around reinstating corporal punishment as a solution to behavior issues, Singh firmly believes that children are not inherently ‘bad’ but are often influenced by negative family or personal experiences. He pointed out that overcrowded classrooms hinder teachers’ ability to cater to individual needs, especially for students with learning disabilities.
