Ethical Healthcare Commitment Exemplified: Oceania Hospitals Signs Innovative MOU

Oceania Hospitals, a private healthcare provider, has reaffirmed its dedication to ethical practices, transparency, and excellence in healthcare.

This commitment was emphasized by Oceania Hospitals chairman Dr. Wame Baravilala during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Voluntary Compliance Framework (VCF) between Oceania Hospitals and the Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission (FCCC) yesterday.

The MOU aims to enhance Oceania Hospitals’ operations by aligning them with the principles outlined in the VCF, maintaining the highest standards of patient care and integrity.

“Oceania Hospitals’ primary mission has always been to provide high standards of patient care while upholding integrity and trust in all operations,” said Dr. Baravilala. “This MOU reinforces our commitment by formally aligning our practices with the principles of the VCF. It represents our proactive approach to compliance, ensuring we go beyond mere regulatory adherence and uphold the highest ethical standards.”

Dr. Baravilala added that the VCF would serve as a strong foundation for evaluating and refining practices, ensuring that the hospital remains vigilant in its commitment to fair pricing, transparent operations, and patient-centered care.

FCCC chair Isikeli Tikoduadua praised Oceania Hospitals’ efforts and commitment to ethical practices and transparency in healthcare, noting that it is the first health service provider to participate in the VCF.
