Members of the Methodist Church of Fiji are increasingly departing from the organization, citing poor and inconsistent leadership as a primary reason. This concern was highlighted by the church president, Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, during a conference on Friday.

Dr. Turagavou addressed ministers and leaders, emphasizing that church resources should not be misappropriated for personal gain. He noted a troubling decline in moral standards and instances of malpractice within the church community.

He expressed disappointment over the tendency to mislead and divide congregants instead of uniting them, calling such behavior the result of unethical and rash decision-making. Dr. Turagavou urged for a collective effort to restore the church’s image and faith in Christ before the situation worsens.
