Epic 7s Tournament: Rugby, Community, and a New Church Venture!

The All Nations Christian Fellowship successfully organized a two-day Epic 7s Tournament over the weekend at Prince Charles Park, concluding yesterday. The tournament attracted large crowds and aimed to raise funds for the construction of a new church, featuring 20 senior men’s teams, 24 U21 teams, and five women’s teams, all showcasing thrilling rugby action for a worthy cause.

This event is part of the church’s three-year initiative to gather between $30,000 to $35,000 for building a new worship space in Suva. They aimed to raise $20,000 to $25,000 through the tournament, and the attendance and community support exceeded their expectations.

Tournament Director Vilitati Galivia discussed the project’s goals, stating, “The main reason for this tournament is to build an All Nations Christian Fellowship Church in Suva. We already have land in Suva but we need to build our church, so our budget is around $30,000-$35,000. We are working on a three-year plan and from this two-day 7s tournament, we hope to raise $20,000-$25,000.”

The tournament featured teams from various divisions, including representations from the Western, Northern, and Eastern regions. The police team delivered a standout performance, demonstrating their prowess throughout the competition. Teams from the Western and Northern divisions also displayed significant skill and sportsmanship, contributing to a highly competitive tournament.
