Vinaina Marawa participated in the 2024 Vodafone Nasinu Festival to convey an important message to her peers. On Saturday, after being crowned Miss Nasinu 2024, she took the opportunity to remind young people that their backgrounds do not define their futures.
At just 22 years old, Marawa is using her newfound platform to raise awareness about domestic violence and advocate for women’s empowerment. “I’ve always liked the idea of having a platform where young ladies can bring attention to issues that matter,” she expressed following her victory.
Marawa’s journey in pageantry started at the age of 16 with the Hibiscus Teen Queens, where she also focused on the topic of domestic violence. She decided to re-enter the competition this year for the Nasinu Carnival to continue supporting this cause, which is close to her heart due to her family’s past experiences with it.
In her remarks, she dedicated her victory to her mother and her six siblings, acknowledging her mother’s strength in raising all seven children. She also expressed gratitude to her fellow contestants for their support and camaraderie throughout the competition.
