Vinaina Marawa participated in the 2024 Vodafone Nasinu Festival to promote a crucial message aimed at young people. On Saturday, after being crowned Miss Nasinu 2024, she stood on stage to share her belief that one’s background does not dictate their future.
At 22, Marawa is using her title to raise awareness about domestic violence and to empower women. “I have always appreciated the concept of a platform that allows young women to speak out on issues that are important,” she expressed following her victory. Her pageantry journey began at the age of 16 with the Hibiscus Teen Queens, where she also advocated for domestic violence awareness. This year, she chose to return and make her voice heard once more during the Nasinu Carnival.
“This topic is very personal to me, as my family has experienced it firsthand,” she remarked. She dedicated her victory to her mother and her six siblings, highlighting her mother’s role as a nurturing figure who raised them all. Marawa also expressed gratitude to her fellow contestants for their support and friendship throughout the competition.
