Boxer Maureen Neumia is encouraging women across the country to participate in the sport. Neumia, who began boxing in 2019 with encouragement from her husband Fred Chand, the promoter for South Pacific Boxing Promotion, believes women can excel just as they do in other sports.
The 37-year-old boxer has been intensively training for her upcoming fight against Amo Wati, scheduled for Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. She expressed confidence in her preparation, stating that she has been training alongside her son, which she believes has made the training process manageable.
Neumia is also appealing to boxing fans to attend the event on Saturday, where three IBO (International Boxing Organisation) Asia Pacific titles will be on the line.
