Over 70 women leaders from various sectors participated in a Women in Corporate Leadership breakfast event on Thursday, where they had the opportunity to meet Antonia Watson, the chief executive officer of ANZ New Zealand.
Organized by Suva-based consultancy SALT Incorporated Limited, the event revolved around the theme “Evolution of Leaders.” Ms. Watson delivered a keynote address highlighting the significance of having clear values to guide leaders through challenging situations.
SALT Inc principal Ana Laqeretabua expressed excitement about Ms. Watson’s presence, emphasizing the valuable insights and wisdom she shared, which provided attendees with useful tools to navigate challenges as women leaders.
Ms. Watson encouraged the women to embrace authenticity, stating that relatable and genuine leaders are highly valued.
Rabih Yazbek, ANZ Fiji’s country head, remarked that bringing senior executives to Fiji is part of ANZ’s community role. He noted that the bank’s global network uniquely positions it to inspire and support aspiring business leaders in Fiji through such visits.
Mr. Yazbek highlighted the importance of hearing from international executives and how it strengthens the relationship between ANZ Fiji and New Zealand. He stated that Ms. Watson’s visit underscores Fiji’s significant role within the ANZ international network.
Ms. Watson arrived in Suva on Wednesday, following a two-day visit to Apia, Samoa.
