The youth in Bua are being empowered to pursue sustainable development through digital innovation, a key message underscored during the week-long Bua Youth Festival. The festival, themed “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” kicked off with the celebration of International Youth Day. This gathering saw youth representatives from the provinces of Bua, Cakaudrove, and Macuata come together.
During the festival’s opening on Tuesday, Youth and Sports Minister Jese Saukuru highlighted the essential role of young people in shaping the future. “Today acknowledges the unique challenges you face, while also emphasizing your vital role as partners in driving positive change,” Mr. Saukuru stated.
Kinijioji Vakawaletabua, an assistant lecturer at FNU and vice president of the Bua Youth Council, emphasized the festival as a crucial platform for youth to connect, learn, and grow. “This event allows young people to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and learn from key stakeholders such as FNU about contributing to a brighter future for Fiji,” he said, noting the university’s long-standing support for the festival and its commitment to aiding the aspirations of Bua’s youth.
The festival is set to conclude tomorrow.
