The Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is currently providing valuable training opportunities in Fiji, aimed at ensuring that children and learners are equipped to access quality work and improve their livelihoods every day.
On Wednesday, a total of 317 students received certificates, including 181 women and 137 men, in Nasinu.
Jokapeci Mocelutu, a 26-year-old mother from Suvavou, shared her experience after completing her training in aged care. She emphasized that acquiring skills through this training has been essential in securing job opportunities, especially as the job market has become increasingly challenging with rising living costs. Despite the difficulties faced, including raising her child while pursuing her studies, she remains determined to continue her education.
Meanwhile, Sainimere Lewetini, also 26 and hailing from Naweretu in Ra, expressed gratitude for the hospitality training she received, which allowed her to gain a Certificate II in Hospitality. This training has opened up opportunities for her to work in hotels, and she is optimistic about the skills she has gained and their positive impact on her community.
Both women highlighted the importance of free training programs like those offered by APTC, which enable them to develop skills that can lead to stable employment and improved quality of life, particularly for vulnerable communities in Fiji. They encourage others to take advantage of such educational opportunities to uplift their circumstances.
