The Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) is convening for a crucial two-day meeting at the Grand Pacific Hotel, focusing on socio-economic issues and the empowerment of iTaukei communities through legislative reviews. Chairman Ratu Viliame Seruvakula emphasized the council’s dedication to supporting iTaukei communities, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering a prosperous future for all Fijians.
This meeting’s agenda will prioritize a thorough examination of current iTaukei legislation and administrative processes, aiming to clarify any legal aspects impacting the community. The GCC is committed to enhancing legal frameworks related to iTaukei resources and social welfare, paving the way for long-term community empowerment and resilience.
Delegates will also analyze iTaukei Administration reports from various working groups based on confederacies.
