The Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is actively promoting quality education in Fiji, benefiting both youth and adult learners to enhance their employment opportunities and overall quality of life.
On Tuesday of this week, 317 students, including 181 females and 137 males, participated in a graduation ceremony held in Nasinu.
Jokapeci Mocelutu, a 26-year-old from Suvavou, Rewa, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity provided by the APTC. She has one child and completed her training in just 12 weeks, which has greatly enhanced her skills and career options.
“This is a wonderful program that has no fees, and it empowers us to advance in our careers,” she stated, emphasizing the school’s commitment to deliver practical education accessible to community members.
Jokapeci is now certified in aged care services and plans to seek employment both locally and abroad, noting the challenges of finding work and the high cost of living.
Meanwhile, Sainimere Lewetini, also 26 and from Naweretu, Nakorotubu, expressed immense joy at receiving her Certificate II in Hospitality. She highlighted the program’s impact, stating that this is just her first training journey, which prepares her for employment in the hospitality sector in Lautoka.
Sainimere completed her training in 12 weeks, with an additional three weeks allocated for practical training in local hotels.
She praised the APTC for their support, stating, “If we want to improve our living standards, this is an excellent place to start. We gain valuable knowledge that can directly benefit our employment and livelihoods.”
In her advice to peers, Sainimere encouraged them to take advantage of these programs, stressing the importance of free education and its potential to improve lives.
Overall, these commendable initiatives by the APTC are necessary steps towards building a better future for locals facing economic challenges.
