Empowering Futures: Bua Youth Festival Celebrates Digital Innovation

The youth of Bua are being empowered to pursue sustainable development through digital innovation. This theme has been the focal point of the week-long Bua Youth Festival. Under the slogan “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” the festival kicked off with the celebration of International Youth Day, bringing together youth representatives from the provinces of Bua, Cakaudrove, and Macuata.

During the opening ceremony on Tuesday, Youth and Sports Minister Jese Saukuru emphasized the significant role young people play in shaping the future. “Today acknowledges not only the unique challenges you face, but also underscores your vital role as partners in driving positive change,” Mr. Saukuru stated.

Kinijioji Vakawaletabua, an assistant lecturer at FNU and vice president of the Bua Youth Council, underscored the festival’s importance as a venue for youth to connect, learn, and develop. “This event provides a platform for young individuals to showcase their talents, share ideas, and engage with key stakeholders such as FNU on how they can help create a better future for Fiji,” Mr. Vakawaletabua remarked.

He also noted that FNU has a long-standing commitment to supporting the Bua Youth Festival, reinforcing its dedication to the aspirations of the region’s youth. The festival will conclude tomorrow.
