Empowering Futures: APTC Transforms Lives Through Education in Fiji

The Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is actively preparing students in Fiji to enhance their employability and daily life skills. This week on Wednesday, a total of 317 students participated in the certification ceremony, comprising 181 females and 137 males, which was held in Nasinu.

Jokapeci Mocelutu, a 26-year-old from Suvavou, Rewa, successfully obtained her certification in aged care. As a mother, she noted that the training, lasting just 12 weeks, was rigorous but rewarding, stating, “This is a great course, and we can earn our livelihoods from it.” She emphasized the importance of such educational opportunities for residents seeking employment.

In addition to Mazelutu, Sainimere Lewetini, also 26, from Naweretu, Nakorotubu, expressed her gratitude for APTC’s teaching methods, which cater to the local community’s needs. She received her certification in Hospitality and was excited about moving to Lautoka for practical experience.

Lewetini noted the significance of these training programs in helping individuals escape poverty, urging her peers to seize the opportunity as the training comes at no cost. She highlighted the need for dedication and commitment in order to benefit from the training and improve their living conditions.

Both graduates shared their encouragement for others to participate in programs like these, which are essential for enhancing skills and securing better jobs to uplift their communities.
