Empowering Fiji’s Future: A Call to Transform Education

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to develop effective strategies to support children and enhance the education system in Fiji. Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro made these comments during the inaugural session of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference held at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau.

Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an environment that stimulates children’s creativity and fosters innovative thinking, preparing them to be the problem-solvers of the future. He called on educators to bridge the divide between traditional education and modern approaches, encouraging them to empower students to become independent thinkers.

He highlighted the significance of teamwork in promoting social cohesion and stressed that it is essential to cultivate children’s character, instilling in them a sense of purpose, vision, and direction.

The Heads of Schools (HOS) were encouraged to extend their efforts beyond the classroom and school grounds, engaging with students and their families to provide support. “Embrace the role of transformative leaders. The government has entrusted you with the responsibility of guiding your schools, and we must foster an educational environment where every student can succeed, every teacher can thrive, and every community can prosper,” said Radrodro.
