Vodafone Fiji’s M-PAiSA has collaborated with Saver.Global to enhance financial education for over 700,000 Fijians with the launch of the SaverLearning platform. This partnership aims to improve both financial and digital literacy, providing essential knowledge and skills to help Fijians safely navigate the digital financial landscape.

Shailendra Prasad, head of eCommerce at Vodafone Fiji, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing its goal to offer quality digital and financial education. He highlighted the significance of empowering individuals to utilize digital financial services effectively. The M-PAiSA mobile wallet plays a crucial role in this initiative, as it provides safe and accessible financial products.

The SaverLearning platform will feature various courses covering key financial topics, including budgeting, remittances, banking, and cybersecurity. Starting in early 2025, the platform is set to introduce new, multilingual courses tailored specifically for the Fijian population. One notable upcoming course titled “Financial Cybersecurity” will focus on teaching users how to securely navigate the digital ecosystem, utilize mobile money services, and protect personal information from online scams by promoting safe online practices through the “Safe Surfing” course.

Jon Capal, founder and chief of Global Programmes at Saver.Global, welcomed the opportunity to empower over 700,000 Fijians, noting the potential to extend the platform’s reach throughout the Pacific region.

This initiative builds on recent efforts by organizations like Westpac, which has also introduced online financial literacy training for Fijians. Such programs reflect a growing recognition of the importance of financial and digital education, aiming to bolster sustainable economic growth and resilience in the face of modern financial challenges.

In summary, the partnership between Vodafone Fiji and Saver.Global marks a significant advancement in enhancing financial literacy in Fiji, creating a positive impact for individuals and communities as they work towards a financially secure future. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to fostering a financially literate society capable of navigating the challenges of the digital economy.
