“Empowering Fijian Public Servants: Insights from China-Aid Training”

A delegation from China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) recently visited the Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) in Suva, Fiji. This visit marks an important collaboration, as the Department of China-Aid Training coordinates various training programs aimed at enhancing the skills of government officials.

During the meeting, Permanent Secretary Mr. Parmesh Chand expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for supporting these initiatives, which have significantly benefited thousands of civil servants over the years. He noted that over 100 Fijian public servants traveled to China this year to participate in specialized training programs, returning with valuable knowledge and skills to implement in their roles.

Chand emphasized that the AIBO Delegation’s visit has strengthened the training and human resource capacity development between Fiji and China. He stated, “The meeting provided us with an opportunity to share knowledge, explore avenues for advancing our mutual objectives, and exchange ideas.”

The meeting was attended by civil servants who previously participated in AIBO trainings. They shared insights on how the program contributed to their professional development.
