Small businesses are crucial to Fiji’s economy, contributing 18% to the nation’s GDP while employing 60% of the workforce. In a recent initiative to empower local entrepreneurs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, awarded a ‘Grant Agreement’ to four business owners from Lamini Village in Taveuni. This funding, provided through the Ministry’s Trade Enhancement Programme, is intended to assist and expand their roadside businesses.
