Empowering Change: Miss Nadera Takes a Stand Against Cyberbullying and Drug Abuse

Salaseini Seruvatu, a victim of cyberbullying, aims to use the Vodafone Nasinu Festival platform to advocate for change. The 19-year-old Savusavu beauty, sponsored by Ozone Electrical and representing Nadera, is focused on raising awareness about the impacts of drug abuse and cyberbullying on families and youth.

“My experience with cyberbullying and witnessing the issue of drug abuse in Nadera has inspired me to take action,” Ms. Seruvatu stated. As a student at the University of the South Pacific, she hopes to collaborate with NGOs to launch awareness campaigns and offer counseling and legal support to create safe spaces for victims.

“By fostering a compassionate and supportive community, we can diminish the stigma and empower individuals to seek help without fear. This experience will be crucial in shaping me into a more effective and empathetic leader as I pursue my goal of being a strong advocate for community issues,” she added.

Ms. Seruvatu is competing as one of seven contestants for the main crown. The festival is set to take place from August 17 to August 24.
